Upcoming 2017 School Tax Collection

It has been a great summer here in Perinton and we hope you’re enjoying the wonderful events and activities the Town has to offer.  Summer will quickly be coming to an end and before we know it, the beginning of a new school year and the start of the 2017 School Tax Collection will be upon us.  In an effort to make sure our residents are properly informed and prepared for the upcoming collection, we have included some important information below.

NEW ADDITION

Depository

We are happy to announce that the Town of Perinton Tax Office has recently installed a Tax Drop Box out front of the Town Hall entrance.  We understand that life is hectic and making your tax payment during normal Town hours is not always a possibility.  By installing the tax drop box, residents will now have the option to drop off their payments before or after Town business hours and even on weekends.

Some important things to remember when using the drop box:

  • Payment must be made with a check – NO CASH ALLOWED
  • Be sure to include your check and two-page bill when placing your payment in the drop box (for 1st installment payments – please include only your check and the 1st installment’s stub)
  • All payments received after midnight will be stamped with the following business day’s date (keep this in mind when dropping your payment off on an actual due date)
  • Payments must be for the exact amount due – all payments greater or less than the amount due will be returned
  • A paid tax receipt will be mailed once payments have been received and posted

The Town of Perinton Tax Office serves as the school district’s collecting agent.  Although we handle tax collection, the development of and final decision on the school budget is determined by a public vote that occurs toward the end of each school year.  If you have any questions regarding your school district’s budget, please be sure to contact your school directly.
