The Perinton Town Board appointed Town Board member Ciaran Hanna as Perinton Town Supervisor on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Hanna was sworn in at the Town Board meeting on Nov. 28.

Hanna, who has been a Town Board member since 2014, will fill the position for the remainder of Mike Barker’s term. Barker retired last week to return to teaching full time. His term would have expired at the end of December, 2019.

The board will appoint a new board member to replace Hanna in the next few weeks following the appropriate selection process.

“I want to thank Mike Barker, on behalf of the town, for his years of dedicated service to this community,” Hanna said.  “We appreciate all he has given to the town and wish him the very best in his not-so-new career.

“I am excited to take on this new role and continue to work with the town board and all of our departments to keep taxes low and provide the exceptional services our residents have enjoyed for many years.”

Hanna was a member of the Monroe County Legislature from 2006-2013 and served in a variety of leadership roles in the county legislature, including as Chairman of the Public Safety Committee (2009-2013) and Chairman of the Human Services Committee (2006-2009).

Hanna has been president and founder of True North Packaging, Inc. in Webster since 2012. Previously he was Director of Operations at H.P. Neun in Fairport (1994-2012) and Sales Manager of Schaefer Ross Fairchild in Webster (1985-1994).

Hanna has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Bishop Kearney High School.

Hanna and his wife Carolyn have four children – Michael, Kevin, Justin, and Brian.
