The Perinton Town Board appointed Seana Sartori to the Perinton Town Board Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Board’s monthly meeting.

Sartori was sworn in during the meeting, as was new Town Attorney Joseph LaFay, who was appointed by the Town Board Jan. 2. LaFay, a former Town Board member, will continue his duties as Deputy Supervisor for Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna.

Sartori has been a volunteer member of the Perinton Zoning Board of Appeals since 2008 and has been the Chairman of the Zoning Board since 2016. Sartori has also been on the Perinton Codes Committee since 2017.

“I’m excited to be appointed by the Town,” Sartori said. “I have been dedicated to the Town through the volunteer boards so I look at this as the next chapter. I have thought about this for a while and when changes happened in town and an opening came about, I figured it was a good time.”

Sartori has worked in the Office of the Monroe County Public Defender as an Assistant Public Defender in Family Court since 2008.

Previously, she was an Assistant Public Defender in Monroe County Criminal Court (March 1998-June 2008), a Legal Aid Society of Rochester, Inc. (August 1994-February 1998), and a Staff Attorney for Neighborhood Legal Services, Family Law Unit, in Buffalo (December 1993-June 1994).

Sartori earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the College of Wooster in Ohio in 1988 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Buffalo School of Law in 1993. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1994.
