The Town of Perinton community garden establishes sustainable living and gardening through a collaborative effort of local agencies, neighbors, and community groups. The cooperation of these groups will support the importance of locally grown food, celebrate a rich heritage of ‘Victory Gardens’, encourage health and wellness for all ages, offer educational programs and donate food to local groups or families.
Located in Potter Park, the Perinton Community Garden was once the original site for a WWII Victory garden. The garden is a community space where people can rent a raised bed each season. Both areas allow members (novice or expert) to grow their own produce and flowers, as well as their gardening skills. The garden also promotes a positive and sustainable environment for residents or neighbors to work together. At this time participation in the community garden is for Fairport/Perinton residents only.
