Project Status: Underway
Total Investment: $1.5 million
Timeline: Starting Spring 2025 | Anticipated Completion: End of 2025
Project Summary
Work is now underway on a $1.5 million infrastructure improvement project at Fellows Road Park – an important initiative within the Town of Perinton’s long-term Capital Improvement Plan.
Project Scope
- Expansion of the stormwater retention pond
- Replacement of the aged parking lot (scheduled for later this summer)
- New drainage installation in soccer and softball fields
- Addition of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
- Construction of a crosswalk in the parking lot to enhance pedestrian safety
These upgrades are designed to improve drainage and field playability, ultimately extending our spring and fall sports seasons for the benefit of athletes, coaches, and families.
Timeline & Construction Phases
Perinton’s Department of Public Works is leading the early stages of construction using in-house expertise, saving taxpayers approximately $160,000. This work will continue through mid-June, while a contractor begins implementation of the field drainage improvements.
Later in the summer, the parking lot will be temporarily closed for replacement. However, the park will remain open and accessible throughout the duration of the project.
Community Impact
Our Recreation & Parks Department has strategically planned this project to minimize disruption to scheduled programming and park use. Visitors are encouraged to use caution near active construction areas and follow posted safety signage. This project will not impact Mighty Machine Mania scheduled for May 10th.
Thank you for your patience as we invest in these proactive improvements, enhancing our parks for today and for the future.
