When Sandra Agnew-Olin saw the chance the manage Craft Bits & Pieces, she jumped at it.
Sandra had been working at Fairport Baptist Homes for 9 years and loved the idea of doing even more for the seniors in Perinton and Fairport.
“I have always leaned toward the elderly,” she said. “They are just so wonderful and such an asset to the community.”
She started as manager of the Fairport Village Landing shop on Sept. 7 and has been working hard to get it into shape.
During the pandemic, Craft Bits & Pieces moved across the plaza to be next to its donation center. Now next to Skip’s Meat Market and just down from the Fairport Public Library and the Tool Thrift Shop, Craft Bits & Pieces is a busy place.
Craft Bits & Pieces is similar to the Tool Thrift Shop. Besides Sandra, all employees are volunteers and the money raised goes to helping seniors through SOFI and other services.
“We don’t dicker over prices,” Sandra said. “Everything we make goes toward seniors. Keep them in their homes longer. Helping with transportation. Anything they need.”
The shop is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
