The Town Board – at the suggestion of Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna – approved John Overacker as Director of Safety and Security at the Town Board meeting Thursday, Nov. 19.
Overacker, an 11-year Town employee, has been key to keeping Town employees and residents safe through his career. He has served as our Zoning Officer and Assistant Fire Marshal, and in May, the Town Board appointed him as Pandemic Safety Director.
“The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused the Town to realign resources and assess our safety needs,” Hanna said. “It is clear that our laser focus of safety will continue to be a priority in the future, and we have taken action to establish a position that reflects this dedication to our residents and employees. John will be a great asset to the community in this role.”
As Director of Safety and Security, John will develop, implement and manage programs and policies designed to promote safety, security and welfare of employees and residents visiting Town owned facilities.
