Perinton Completes Capital Infrastructure Improvement Project

August 4, 2021

Perinton Public Works recently completed a significant Capital Infrastructure Improvement project by extending our sanitary sewer system to the Red Barn Circle and Beatrice Cove neighborhoods, located off Kreag Road.

More than 3,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer was installed in challenging soil and groundwater conditions, including a 330-foot horizontal drill under I-490. Nearly 2,700 linear feet of new storm sewer was installed as part of the road reconstruction, including two underground units that improve stormwater quality prior to its discharge into the canal. The project also provided our utility partners Monroe County Water Authority and RGE the opportunity to replace water and gas services for Red Barn residents.

The major work was completed in the Fall of 2020, and the final pavement and lawn restoration concluded this spring. Residents are now actively connecting to the new sanitary sewer system. Since January 2021, 31 residents on Red Barn and Beatrice Cove have connected their homes to the new sewer!

Our sanitary sewer system is an extensive and valuable part of our critical infrastructure. This project is another example of our dedication to maintaining and expanding these resources within the Town. Check out the project progress photos below ⬇️.
