The Canal Corporation announced several public meetings on their Earthen Embankment Integrity Program (EEIP) to be hosted in the Town of Perinton.
Statement from Supervisor Ciaran Hanna: “We are pleased that the Canal Corporation and NYPA heeded requests from the Town and our residents for a community approach to this project. We hope these public meetings will give us a full scope of the project and provide all of our residents, especially those property owners along the Canal, an opportunity for a meaningful discussion. When it comes to any proposed cutting along the Canal, we ask for a carefully considered, inclusive and planned approach in order to preserve the historic, recreational and economic value, while also ensuring our community’s safety in the years to come. I look forward to attending these meetings and hope our residents will join.”
