The Town Clerk’s office provides services for all members of the community. We issue marriage licenses, hunting and fishing licenses, landfill permits, accessibility parking permits, peddlers’ permits and process passport applications. We help children license their first puppies, parents introduce their children to the joys of fishing, young couples get married, middle-aged adults care for their aging parents. We have available voter registration forms, absentee ballots and income tax forms.
We issue thousands of tax bills each year for Monroe County and the five school districts in Perinton: Fairport, Penfield, Pittsford, Victor and East Rochester, then accept tax payments for those entities. The Receiver of Taxes collects county and town taxes in January and school taxes in September. Tax bills may be paid at the Clerk’s office, or by mail. New residents are asked to call the Clerk’s office with information about escrow accounts so that tax bills will be sent to the correct address. Residents are reminded to notify the Town Clerk’s office if they have not received a tax bill in the first week of January or the first week of September.
The Town Clerk is also the author of the official Town Board minutes and Records Access Officer for the Town.
