A five-member board, appointed to five years terms (no term limit), which meets the fourth Tuesday in May in the Town Hall Board Room. The Board of Assessment Review (BAR) hears complaints filed by taxpayers who feel their assessments are unequal, excessive, unlawful or that their property is misclassified. Board Members exercise judgment and discretion in order to render an impartial, objective determination on complaints. The Real Property Tax Law requires that members of the BAR have knowledge of property values in the assessing unit. BAR members are local public officials and must be residents of Perinton.
Meets on the 4th Tuesday of May.
