New Playground at Center Park West Playground Slated for 2025: Community Input Needed

October 13, 2023

Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna and the Perinton Recreation & Parks Department today announced plans to replace aging playground equipment located at Center Park West. In an effort to engage our community and encourage public participation, the Town also launched a playground survey. Interested community members are invited to participate in the survey, which will help craft the theme and elements of the new Center Park West playground and ensure it meets the desires and needs of our community.

“The Town of Perinton is dedicated to providing exceptional recreational opportunities and maintaining park spaces for our residents,” said Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna. “Our 5-Year Playground Revitalization Plan reflects our commitment to ensuring that Perinton’s parks and playgrounds are accessible and enjoyable for all members of our community. As we plan for the future of Center Park West, we look to our community to provide feedback and ensure this playground meets their needs.

Slated for 2025, the playground project marks the second phase of the Town’s comprehensive 5-Year Playground Revitalization Plan. This initiative involves modernizing and revamping three aging playground structures. Building on the successful revitalization of the Kreag Road Park playground in May 2023, the playground at Center Park West is now poised for a transformation in 2025 that will include a playground designed around feedback from our community.

Recreation & Parks Commissioner Jeff Nutting said, “We look forward to engaging the community in this exciting next phase of our Playground Revitalization Plan. The Center Park West playground project reflects our commitment to providing accessible and enjoyable outdoor spaces for all ages and abilities to enjoy. We encourage you to dedicate a few minutes to complete the survey and provide feedback.”

Center Park West is a popular gathering place for many residents, with soccer fields and proximity to the Perinton Community Center, Center Park Amphitheater, and the RS&E Trolley Trail. The park boasts nearly 49 acres of recreational space, offering a diverse range of activities for families.

Community members are urged to participate by submitting their insights and ideas for the Center Park West playground through the survey, which is open for submissions by Friday, November 3, 2023. For more information about the project and to participate in the survey, click the image above.

Center Park West is located off Ayrault Road, adjacent to the Perinton Community Center (PCC).
