Nick Berlin has been promoted to Recreation Director for the Perinton Recreation and Parks Department.

He has been Perinton’s Assistant Recreation Director since joining the department in 2018. Before that, he was a Recreation Supervisor in Ogden and a Recreation Assistant in Sweden/Clarkson.

“Nick has done everything we could have asked of him and more,” Nutting said. “He has a calm demeanor that diffuses any situation that may come up. I am confident that our successful department will only improve with Nick’s leadership.”

Some of the programs Berlin has spearheaded since joining Perinton Rec & Parks include:

  • Planning and implementation of preschool, youth and teen programs.
  • Planning and implementation of multiple special events.
  • Planning and implementation of the summer day camp program.
  • Coordination of the department’s social media and marketing plan.
  • Facility management.
  • Internship coordinator.
  • Supervise 50-60 seasonal/part-time staff and subcontractors annually.
  • Developed and launched training program for RecTrac.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to do even more in the community of Perinton,” Berlin said. “This is a great town, a great facility and a great Recreation & Parks Department. I’m looking forward to helping make it even better.”

Berlin lives in Brockport with his wife and two young sons.

“Nick has shown in his time here that he has great ideas and knows just how to implement them,” Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna said. “I have no doubt he will carry that over to the Director position. He has proved to be an outstanding leader.”
