The NYS Canal Corporation has notified the Town of Perinton regarding scheduled maintenance work along the Erie Canalway Trail, specifically the section between Pittsford and Macedon, which includes Perinton.
It is important to note that this maintenance effort is separate from the State’s Earthen Embankment Integrity Program and is instead prompted by the aftermath of recent storms. The Canal Corporation will be addressing storm-related damage and eliminating any hazards caused by low-hanging branches.
Work has commenced and is projected to span across multiple weeks until its completion. The NYS Canal Corporation aims to ensure the safety and integrity of the Erie Canalway Trail for the benefit of the community and trail users during this period.
