Christina Fields

We are pleased to announce Christina Fields as our new Chef for the Perinton Recreation & Parks Department!

Christina comes to the Town of Perinton from Daystar Kids, where she was responsible for ordering, preparing, and serving meals for their participants. She has extensive food service experience, including cooking various cuisines and ordering, preparing, and serving meals. In addition to holding a Bachelor’s Degree, Christina studied Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts at Monroe Community College.

The Chef position in the Town of Perinton plans and coordinates the Curbside Lunch program and other senior meal programs. They also provide oversight to staff and volunteers in a fast-paced environment. It was a priority to hire a Chef who has the ability to cook high-quality food and be approachable, open to feedback and a positive leader.

“Christina’s passion for food and hospitality was evident during the interview process,” said Recreation & Parks Commissioner Jeff Nutting. “She plans to bring fresh, seasonal ingredients with a diverse palate to our meal options. We are excited to see her excel in this position and positively impact our seniors and participants.”

“We are confident Christina will be great for the community,” said Assistant Recreation Director Kelly Attridge. “The Curbside Lunch program and other senior meals have become very important to our senior community. We feel Christina is the perfect fit to carry on the quality we have become accustomed to while bringing her own creative flair.”

As the kitchen manager at Daystar, Fields served breakfast, snacks, and lunch daily to the students. She would plan the menu, create all the scratch recipes, train kitchen helpers and stay within nutritional and budgetary guidelines.

“My goal is to offer diverse, delicious, and culturally relevant foods so that people actually eat and enjoy what we serve,” Fields said. “I’m sure the Perinton kitchen is a unique challenge that I will enjoy meeting every day I walk through the door.”

Fields will begin in the Perinton kitchen in early December.
