Town Establishes Fund for Families impacted by Pines of Perinton Fire

January 25, 2022

Overnight, a devastating fire occurred at the Pines of Perinton. Many local families were displaced, and in partnership with the Red Cross and Fairport Central School District, we opened the Perinton Community Center as an emergency shelter for those families.

Local fire departments worked for hours to safely extinguish the fire. Teamwork and coordination resulted in safe outcomes, however, many residences are damaged or lost. We are exceptionally grateful for the agencies, professionals, and volunteers who responded to this emergency.

We know Perinton is an incredibly generous community, and donations are being coordinated through many local organizations. However, the needs of impacted families are still being assessed and we cannot accept any clothing or material donations until those needs are known. Non-perishable food donations, as always, are accepted through Perinton Food Shelf.

The Town has established a fund to accept monetary donations that will be dispersed directly to those impacted by this fire. Checks can be made out to the Town of Perinton, and the memo line should note: Pines of Perinton Fund. Checks can be mailed or dropped off at Town Hall (1350 Turk Hill Rd. Fairport, NY 14450). Cash donations will also be accepted at Town Hall during our normal hours of operation, Monday – Friday; 9 AM – 5 PM.
