Welcome to Our Town’s Lost and Found Program
At one time or another, we’ve all experienced that moment of mild panic – the frantic search for misplaced keys or the hunt for our wandering phone. Rest assured, you’re far from being the only one to undergo such situations. It’s a universal experience, and that’s why, here in the Town of Perinton, we’ve put in place a system to help you recover items lost in our Town parks, facilities, and property.
The primary goal of our lost and found program is simple: to treat all lost property equally and make every possible effort to reunite it with its rightful owner. We understand that your belongings hold sentimental value and practical importance. Losing something, no matter how small, can be an inconvenience. That’s why we’ve established a dedicated process to ensure that your items are taken care of and returned to you.
How the Program Works
Our Town-wide lost and found program operates within a well-defined framework to ensure effectiveness and fairness:
- Report Lost Items: Click the button below to use our online form and submit a description of your lost item. Whenever an item is reported it is included in our town-wide lost and found database. We take every report seriously and will contact you if a found item matches the description of your lost item.
- Central Database: We maintain a centralized database of all reported lost and found items. This database helps us track and manage each item efficiently, increasing the chances of reuniting items with their owners.
- Reclaiming Your Property: If you believe that that you’ve identified your lost item on our list, please contact our Director of Safety & Security by email at safety@perinton.org or phone at (585) 223-0770. We’ll cross-reference your description and ask detailed questions about the item in order to match it with the correct owner.
For lost item inquiries or assistance, please reach out to our Safety & Security Director. If you’ve found an item at one of our parks or facilities please turn it into Town Staff. Please note that this only includes items found on Town-owned parks, facilities and property.

This list is updated weekly. Please please contact our Director of Safety & Security by email at safety@perinton.org with any questions, concerns or inquiries.
Any found property turned into the Town of Perinton (that is not unsafe or unsanitary) will be kept for a period of ninety (90) days. At the completion of a ninety day period the Safety and Security Department will facilitate the destruction of unclaimed property. Any cash monies will be turned over to the Town Clerk of the Town of Perinton as unclaimed funds.
