Community Garden Core

The community garden core is a group of members dedicating 15 hours of volunteer work support the mission of the garden, help at special events, attend core meetings, contribute to the goals of the garden, support garden members and assist the community garden coordinator with necessary tasks.

  • Community garden events 
  • Tool shed clean up 
  • Building/assembling canopy boxes 
  • Member bed maintenance including watering, weeding, replacing  
  • Maintenance of pollinator gardens 
  • Maintenance of vermiculture composting system 
  • Maintenance of vertical gardens 

Many of the volunteer activities are outdoors, we suggest wearing/ bringing; 

  • clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty 
  • sturdy footwear that will keep your feet dry in wet conditions 
  • work or gardening gloves  
  • sun protection including, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat 
  • water bottle 

Yes. Please keep track of your hours and send an email after completion to the garden coordinator. gardencoord@perinton.org

Please let the garden coordinator know (email) as soon as possible if you cannot make the date you signed up for.  

Some events may be rescheduled due to inclement weather. You will receive a email a day before the event to confirm the details.
